Violent and/or graphic content policies
Our top priority is the safety of our creators, viewers, and partners, and we rely on each of you to help us safeguard this vibrant community. It's critical that you understand our Community Standards and how they contribute to our shared responsibility of keeping Supernova safe. Please take the time to read the policy below carefully.
Supernova does not allow violent or gory content that is intended to shock or disgust viewers, of content that encourages others to commit violent acts.
If you believe someone is in danger, you should contact your local law enforcement agency right away to report the situation.
Please report any content that you believe violates this policy. Instructions for reporting Community Guidelines violations. You can report the account if you've found multiple violations.
What does this mean for you?
If your content fits any of the descriptions below, don't post it on Supernova.
- Instigating others to commit violent acts against specific individuals or groups of people.
- Fights between minors
- Footage, audio, or imagery depicting traffic accidents, natural disasters, war aftermath, terrorist attack aftermath, street fights, physical assaults, sexual assaults, immolation, torture, corpses, protests or riots, robberies, medical procedures, or other scenes intended to shock or disgust viewers.
- Footage or imagery depicting bodily fluids such as blood or vomit in order to shock or disgust viewers.
- Content that intentionally causes an animal distress by inflicting unnecessary suffering or harm.
- Content in which humans encourage or coerce animals to fight
- Dramatized or fictional footage of any of the items listed above where the viewer is given insufficient context to determine whether the footage is dramatised or fictional.
- Footage of bodies with severe injuries, such as limb amputations
Please keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive list.
Here are some examples of prohibited content on Supernova:
- Encouraging others to go to a specific location to commit violence, to commit violence at a specific time, or to commit violence against specific individuals or groups.
- Actual fights between minors in the schoolyard. We may allow content if minors are only playing fight and viewers can see it.
- Beatings or brawls that occur outside of a professional or professionally supervised sporting event
A few more examples
Supernova does not allow the following types of content. This isn't an exhaustive list.
- Medical procedure footage that focuses on open wounds without providing viewers with any education or explanation.
- Footage of violent crimes such as robberies or rape that does not provide viewers with any education or explanation.
- Cell phone, dash cam, or closed circuit TV footage of people who have been injured or killed in a car accident, with titles like "Crazy accident" or "Warning: Lots of blood."
- Beheadings on video.
- One-sided assaults titled "Watch this guy get beaten up!"
- Video taken by the perpetrator during a fatal or major violent event in which weapons, violence, or injured victims are visible or audible. There are no exceptions to this rule, even if your content has an educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic context.
Supernova does not allow the following types of content. This isn't an exhaustive list.
Abuse of animals
- Dogfighting, cockfighting, or other posts or images in which human spectators force animals to fight. We do allow content like nature documentaries that feature animals fighting in the wild.
- Unnecessary suffering depicted in non-educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic content.
- Bullfighting in which the bulls are harmed (E.g swords in the bull).
- Hunting with illegal methods such as bombing or poisoning.
Please keep in mind that these are just examples, and do not post content if you believe it may be in violation of this policy.
