Community Guidelines

Policy on suicide, self-injury and self-harm

Our top priority is the safety of our creators, viewers, and partners. We rely on each of you to assist us in safeguarding this unique and vibrant community. It's critical that you understand our Community Standards and how they contribute to our shared responsibility of keeping Supernova safe. Please read the following policy carefully. You can also find a complete list of our rules on this page.

We value the health and well-being of all of our creators and viewers at Supernova. We believe that raising mental health awareness and understanding is important, and we encourage creators to share their stories, such as posting content about their experiences with depression, self-harm, or other mental health issues.

However, we do not allow content on Supernova that encourages suicide or self-harm, or that is intended to shock or disgust viewers.

What should you do if you come across this content?

Please contact local emergency services for assistance and report the post to bring it to our attention if you come across content in which someone expresses suicidal thoughts or engages in self-harm.

What to do if you require assistance

If you're depressed, suicidal, or self-harming, know that help is available and that you're not alone. Many people use suicidal ideation and self-harm as coping mechanisms for painful emotions. Speaking with a professional can assist you in identifying healthy, effective coping strategies as well as developing skills to manage difficult emotions.

Posting Guidelines for Mental Health-Related Content

The Supernova community should not be afraid to talk about mental health and self-harm openly. Supernova collaborates with mental health charities to improve global mental health, and we support all those in need in any way we can. Please do not post content on Supernova if it fits any of the following descriptions, as this is not helpful:

  • Endorsing or promoting suicide
  • Disseminating information on how to self-harm or commit suicide
  • Explicit self-harm images posted to shock or disgust viewers

All content on Supernova is subject to the Community Guidelines policy. Please keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive list.

What happens if content is found to be in violation of the policy?

If your content is found to be in violation of this policy, we will remove it and notify you via email. If this is your first violation of our Community Guidelines, you will receive a warning and your account will not be penalised. If it isn't, we'll give your account a warning. Your account will be terminated if you receive three strikes.

More information about our strikes system can be found here.
